About the Journal

'Jurnal Rekayasa Sipil', translated as Civil Engineering Journal, is a scholarly periodical published by the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Andalas University (Unand), Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The journal, abbreviated as JRS-Unand, accredited SINTA-4, covers recent topics in civil engineering as stated in its focus and scope. JRS-Unand aims to provide a platform for academics, professionals, and researchers to share their findings and contribute to advancing construction science and engineering. All articles are freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license.

To strengthen the dissemination of research findings and innovations in the field of civil engineering, Jurnal Rekayasa Sipil Universitas Andalas cordially invites lecturers, researchers, and practitioners to submit their best scientific manuscripts for publication.

Scope of Topics (including but not limited to):

Types of Manuscripts Accepted:

  • Research Articles

General Requirements:

  • The manuscript must be original and has not been published previously, nor is it currently under review in any other journal.

  • Authors must follow the journal’s template and submission guidelines.

  • All submissions will undergo a peer-review process.

  • Papers will be published after peer-review process in March, July, or December

JRS-Unand Vol.22 No.2, published July 2026.

This edition of the JRS-Unand presents thirteen research articles covering a broad spectrum of civil engineering disciplines, including geotechnical, structural, transportation, water resources, construction management, building safety, pavement engineering, and environmental engineering. The issue features studies on the stability improvement of SPSP pile systems, BIM-based optimization of reinforcement waste, the construction-service response of prestressed box girder bridges, seepage analysis of zoned embankment dams, and the application of reclaimed asphalt pavement in asphalt mixtures. Additional contributions address railway level-crossing safety assessment, foundation design for pedestrian suspension bridges on soft soils, the mechanical and hydraulic performance of porous concrete paving blocks, risk management of power transmission projects using integrated FMEA–RCA–Monte Carlo methods, traffic congestion analysis, bibliometric mapping of building fire safety research, and the adsorption behavior of antibiotic resistance genes using activated carbon in water treatment. Collectively, these studies provide innovative solutions to contemporary challenges in sustainable infrastructure development and engineering practice.
